So, after 39 weks of pregnancy and 45 lbs of weight gain (wow) we were ready for our little girl. My blood pressure kept going up and TONS of swelling so and the doctors decided I was on my way to pre-eclampsia and I should be induced. So on Fri., Jan 18th, 2008 we were admitted to Memorial Hospital in South Bend at about 8:30am. With Pitocin on board we started the labor process. At about 2:30 and not a lot of progress Dr. McGregor decided to break my water. Then the BIG contractions hit! After about 2 hours of unbelievable pain I begged for the epidural. Oh boy, the anesthesiologist had become my bestfriend! Soon after those events Christy arrived for the boring waiting game. We finally had our little Ava Marilynn at 9:51pm after only 15 minutes of pushing. What a day!
